For over 100 years, the Gund Company has worked hard to bring the public soft, keepsake toys made to last a lifetime. Founded in 1898 by Adolph Gund, the Gund company manufactured soft, handmade toys, jewelry, belts and other novelty products. In 1910, Gund introduced its first full line of stuffed animals. This line was so popular, they decided to focus all of its manufacturing on these high quality, soft toys which " . . . evoke feelings of love, tenderness, and friendship, for the giver as well as the receiver."
