Welcome to the Bag Lady of Beaufort's Grandma Trap

The Bag Lady is delighted to offer this huge collection of downright fun backpacks, books, purses, activity sets, and soft sculpture toys from the North American Bear Company, Pockets of Learning, Gund, BlaBla, Wildkin, and Ganz! So, Grandmas everywhere . . . look no farther! Here on this page, you will find the perfect gift for your perfect, little angels!

North American Bear Company dates back to the mid 70s when Barbara Isenberg (then a young mother and design student) had the dream of designing and producing high quality imaginative teddy bears that would be loved by adults as well as children. Barbara has come a long way! Today she heads her New York studio where an in-house team of designers and artists create fun animal bags and dress-up bears. The Bag Lady currently carries a full line of these children's handbags and coin purses. However, if you're an adult child at heart, check out these adorable treasures for yourself.

Strictly for kids, the quality cloth books and innovative soft sculpture toys by Pockets of Learning are a must. Many of the products have been chosen for awards by Parent's Magazine, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio and Child Magazine. These wonderful little soft sculptured toys are often referred to as "church and travel" toys because they are quiet and safe. All toys and books are beautifully handcrafted with lots of appliqué and embroidery. If you lose a piece, Pockets of Learning will replace and ship it for free.

BlaBla makes heirloom quality handbags and backpacks. Each creation is hand-knitted with loving care. The handbags have a button closure; the backpacks are lined with a zip closure.

A welcome addition to the Grandma Trap is the oldest and leading soft toy manufacturer in the United States . . . Gund. Gund was founded in 1898 by Adolph Gund, a German immigrant, in Norwalk, Connecticut. This company was one of the first to design and produce teddy bears in the early 1900s. Each Gund product is a tactile delight for mother and baby alike.

The Grandma Trap would be incomplete without Wildkin's cute and cuddly backpacks and purses. Designed for adventures, Wildkin creates little backpacks for children five and under and big backpacks for bigger kids. Keep in mind that no kid is too big! The Bag Lady learned this the first day she put her Wildkin plush purses on the shelf. Collectors of animalia just had to have them - age is not a factor!

Last, but not least, is our newest line . . . Ganz! Ganz is a 50+ year old company that makes the softest, cuddliest plush animal bags for little girls.
