The Bag
Lady of Beaufort's Online Store is an Internet extension of the "brick
and mortar" store, The Bag Lady located in Beaufort, NC.
Both are retail stores and only carry the manufacturers featured on the
web site and the physical store. We do not wholesale.
Catalog
Information
The Bag
Lady of Beaufort's Online Store's catalog is the Web Site. We do
not have a paper catalog because this would inhibit us from changing our
products and manufacturers as often as we do. It would not be cost effective
in our case.
Currency/Exchange
Rates/Duties
The Bag
Lady of Beaufort's Online Store and The Bag Lady are United
States-based companies and therefore our prices are listed in US Dollars
(USD). We cannot be responsible for the difference in exchange rates one
may be charged by one's bank in countries outside the United States. As
a customer, one has the right to abort the ordering process if the amount
charged is not acceptable.
It has
come to our attention that some countries charge additional duty fees.
It is the customer's responsibility to pay these fees.
International
Orders
We ship
our products by way of Air Mail through the United States Postal Service
to areas outside the United States. In this case, we do insure the packages
to protect us and our customers; an additional $5.00 (USD) handling is
added to the shipping charge. This is a policy we recently added due to
a large rash of missing overseas packages. Please note that with current
times being as they are, packages are being held up in Customs which delays
the delivery date. This is out of our hands once we ship the product from
our local Post Office. Thirty days (from the date of shipment) must elapse
before we can submit an insurance claim for a lost package.
Each
and every single item purchased by an International customer is inspected
thoroughly at least 3 times before shipment. If you receive your product
and it is damaged, please take the product, the shipping container, and
all packaging to your local Postal Office to begin an insurance claim.
We
no longer ship to an overseas address that is different from the billing
address. The billing and "ship to" address must be the same
and verifiable by the cardholder's bank.
We do not ship to any country where credit card fraud is not a crime or
where there is a high rate of credit card fraud. This includes the following
countries: Afghanistan, Cuba, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait,
Libya, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Republic of Georgia, Romania, Russia,
Sudan, and Syria.
Return
Policy
If for some reason you are displeased with your purchase, e-mail us
at Baglady@ec.rr.com
within 3 days of receipt of the item. A return authorization number
will be emailed to you within 24 hours. If you prefer, you may also
call 1-252-726-4388 for an authorization number. No returned merchandise
will be accepted by Bag Lady of Beaufort without a return authorization
number; we will refuse the package.
Please write the RA# on the face of the package and
mail to The Bag Lady, Internet Returns, 413 Front Street, Beaufort,
NC, 28516 within 7 days from date of receipt of the return authorization
number. The product must be returned in its original box with all original
packaging and all tags intact. For your protection, we urge you to use
the necessary means to insure we are in receipt of the return and it
is in salable condition.
After the shipment is received and processed by our Returns Center,
you will be refunded for the cost of the product and applicable sales
tax (if originally collected) minus a 10% restocking fee. It
typically takes one to two billing cycles for your credit card company
to show the refund on your account.
A flawed item will be accepted for exchange only - if available.
Absolutely no returns will be accepted after 14 days for faulty merchandise.
We
do not refund shipping charges.
Shipping
Policy
We make every effort to ship your order within 1 to 3 business days
upon receipt. This may vary by the availability of the product, holidays,
and the day of the week. For instance, orders received on Saturday or
Sunday will not be shipped until Monday. If your order is out of stock,
we will notify you by e-mail or telephone and request further instruction
from you. Orders scheduled for shipment on a weekday holiday will be
shipped the next day.
We
use Priority Mail through the United States Postal Service as our method
of shipment for orders within the United States; however, due to the
recent hike in postage rates, extra large items will be shipped regular
parcel post. In the event the customer is charged USPS Priority Mail
rates, the difference will be credited to the customer's credit card.
We use Air Mail through the United States Postal Service for
orders outside the United States and Priority Mail International when
available.
Privacy
and Security Policies
We are aware that you are concerned about protecting your privacy online.
We treat your personal information, especially your credit card number,
with the highest degree of safety and security. We do not sell or exchange
the names of our online customers to any third party unless compelled
by law.
We understand that many of our customers would rather not order
through the Internet. Therefore, you may call 252-726-4388 and order
by phone.
When you place an order, we request your name, credit card information,
e-mail address, shipping address, billing address, and your phone number.
This data is used strictly to fulfill your order. The information you
supply us is collected through the use of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
encrypted protection.
